The Guild of Blacksmiths of Donbass

It is hardly possible to find more ancient craft than blacksmith. Followed by agriculture, cattle breeding and pottery, metal working skill was called to serve human civilization few millennia ago. Mention of it occured in the mythology of ancient tribes and peoples.
Processing of metal produced one of the first, perhaps the most significant technological revolutions in human history. Progress in this field has made an incredible transformation and has gone so far that the smiths of antiquity could not afford to even imagine modern technology of their craft. However, despite the acquisition of technological development, blacksmith can not be replaced by a machine in the artistic forging.
It so happened that in the late twentieth century, when the whole world was looking toward future technologies, Ukrainian masters persistently revived unjustly forgotten and sometimes lost secrets of blacksmithing. The most active among other enthusiasts were craftsmen of Donbass, which not only directly engaged in forging, but also organized at the end of the 90s the first festivals of blacksmithing skill in Ukraine. The growing popularity of decorative metal case has led to the fact that at the initiative of Honored Artist of Ukraine Victor Burduk was created by various artists and companies "The Guild of Blacksmiths of Donbass".
As a registered social organization " The Guild of Blacksmiths of Donbass" was formed in June 1, 2007. Victor Burduk became its chairman Victor Burduk, Evgeniy Lavrynenko became its secretary. To date, the Guild is one of the most active members of the Creative Union "The Blacksmiths and Masters of the Art of Metal of Ukraine". Can be argued that the results of its activities is the union in fact gave Donetsk status of the Ukrainian forge capital.
